THE PROCESS

SUSTAINABILITY

We are aware that animal agriculture is polluting and damaging. We agree that we have to change the way we raise and consume animals. Unfortunately, not buying leather isn't going to stop humans from eating meat. It isn't going to keep a cow from being slaughtered, it will just lead to a hide being wasted. Therefore, as long as humans eat meat, we are proud to be using what otherwise would be going to waste. Additionally, in contrary to synthetic materials, leather is a 100% biodegradable material.

SELECTION

All of our designs are made of vegetable tanned leather from local tanneries.

The vegetable tanning is an organic method relying on natural vegetable tannins from bark or other plant tissues. This method results in a process where all materials used are biodegradable.

We believe that individuality is a sign of quality. Leather might have natural marks that emphasize its authenticity.

All of our products will develop a unique patina, adding personality to the product.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

Every step of the process is done by hand. From designing, to making the pattern, cutting the leather and eventually sewing it together. We use a technique called saddle stitching. It is also known as hand stitching or two-needle stitching and is time consuming but ends up stronger than a machine stitch. If a thread is cut on one side of a saddle stitch, but the other side remains intact, the overall stitch will continue to retain its integrity.
